Default Hi from Joliet, IL area

Finally! I've been a member for a week or so but just now got to post. Anyway, glad to be on board. I recently bought a 2000 XKR and the Jaguar Forum has been quite useful. I am fairly mechanical, but failing near vision and numb fingers could spell out trouble, so I had the chain tensioners replaced, and while it was apart, had a tune-up - plugs, injectors, filters, plus water pump and belts - $3900 worth, but I got a good deal on the car. The previous owner put LED bulbs in the taillights and it confused the electrical system. The dealer picked up the tab for the trans leak, and all else seemed well. Except the "Washer Fluid Low" err-msg, even after I had filled the resevoir. The Jag Forum addressed this, and the next time I filled it I narrowly avoided a wet foot - yet to crawl under the fender and seal the leak, but good to know for when the weather warms up again (if it ever will!)

Thanks y'all. I'm glad to see a broad range of expertise and enthusiasm. I have to say this red XKR of mine is exciting - I don't get that excited about much these days. Just hope I don't flaunt that red ("bust me") roadster in the face of the law - so tempting. Breaking out of the wolf-pack clogging the interstate lanes and nailing it and I'm instantly at a 100! Quicker than my 3000GT or any of the several Vettes I've owned. Not quite the integrity of my wife's Lexus SC450, but much sexier - all her girlfriends wahnt to ride in the Red Cat - but without me!
