Default Hi from Nevada

We have had a 98 XK8 for about 7 years and a 2001 XKR for about 3. Just sold the Lotus, needed the room in the Garage. My wife drives the XK8 and I get to wash it. It is the covertable, and the XKR is the coupe. Love them both.

Welcome to this friendly Forum. Follow the advice above and (if you haven't already) read up on secondary timing chain tensioners.

Hi and thanks for the "welcome aboard" . I have installed the timing chain tensioners on both cars. Right now I have a problem with the XK8. There is a P1638 code, and thanks to your posts I think I have it narrowed down to the Instrument Panel. Now I just need to go back to the forum to find out how to remove it so that I can have it rebuilt. Great forum, I also used your information to fix the CD player, and the easy fix on the upper timing chain tensioners and other various problems. Thanks!
