Default Hi from Sebring, Florida 98 xk8

Hello from Sebring Florida... home of the 12 hours of Sebring... I'm new to the Jag world. Just purchased a project level 98 XK8 convertible. While I'm new these cars, I'm not to cars in general or British car. I'm had quite a few MG's including and MGA and a Lotus Eclat. I know off the bat I have to do the fuel pump... and some interior things... looking forward to the challenge and getting to know the car and you all...

Thanks
Glenn

Sorry for the slow responce... I work 12 hour shifts as a Supervisor in a central Florida chemical plant... I picked up the car wednesday afternoon... and got back to my house at 2:00AM and went to work Thursday, Friday and today... I have barely even sat in the car much less taken a pic of it.. I have however in the two min i have spent with it... got it locked in Valet mode ... I get home just after sundown and leave before sun up... I do however have the next 7 days off... I plan of messing with the XK8 then...

BAD CAT there are plenty of opportunity to get out on the track at Sebring... just not today... the BIG race is today ... I have been there and autocrossed on the skip barber skid pad and been on the track with the Ferrari Club of America.... it's a hoot!

Welcome to the forum Glenn. I was a Sebring resident in the mid 80's. Some of my better years with the Ag department. Sometimes I miss the rural South Florida atmosphere. Hope you enjoy your new ride.

Ok... so in the fleeting moments of sunlight this afternoon I was able to unlock the trunk with the key and get it out of VALET MODE... tomorrow I check the fuel pressure and finally get to take a good look at the car and find out exactly what i have.

DPWarner, I actually grew up in Wauchula, in the 70,80s and moved to Cleveland/Chattanooga, TN in the mid 90s. We moved back down about a year ago. It's been nice to be back.

Glenn, You may want to repost these sorts of technical issues in the XK / XKR forum, where you'll find plenty of experienced owners who will be happy to share their knowledge and experience.

Cheers,

Don
