Default Hi from Versailles, FR

Hello community!!! After years lurking I finally joined the largest Jag forum. The brand is a family love story since 1975 when my father bought new his first 12 cylinder XJ. He then bought the 6 cylinder series 2 coupe (new too) and finally a series 3 in '84 (new still), and.... Had to choose between his wife and the brand... Wife: 1, Cat: 0. I as a child loved those cars, and I never had any other brand really move me like Jaguar. As soon I could afford to do so (not about money but about space and opportunity) I purchased my all time favorite Jag - beside the out of reach 120 - an early series 1 XJ in absolutely impeccable condition. It belonged to one of Hermès directors who was the second owner. I'll post pics someday: You'll see it's absolutely pristine. I briefly had a XJ40 too but it was a poor experience. Jags have been occasional cars for me. I would not really trust them to be my everyday cars. I drive about 20KKM per year and with three kids I don't want to end up spending Sundays on the emergency shoulder lane... However, after a boring Audi, a boring (but perfectly reliable) Lexus and two problematic BMWs, I revised my judgment and chose to go for an old X308. Plan was for a complete restoration to ensure the car can meet my goals. Long trips on highway driving efficiently and not worrying about the next part that might fail. After 20 years, what can you expect... I didn't need an other weekend drive. Sooo... Restoration is now complete, and.... I have an issue !!! :-) That's why today is the day I joined. Thanks for reading me !!! And by the way: Congrats modders! The forum is very easy to use. Loads fast anywhere, searching is easy. Posting too. Great design!!! Pleasure to use.

Welcome to the forums jacksjaga,

Good to have you with us.

It can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum with a cluster question so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
