My name is Jo and I live in Virginia Beach. I bought my first Jaguar, a red 2004 X Type 3.0, two years ago for my 50th birthday. I have been in love with the body type and color since I was a little girl, some time around the cretaceous period. I had driven a Chrysler Town & Country for twelve years, complete with singing kids and bouncing dogs, so this car is a real treat.
I love my "Baby" but she taunts me. The exclamation point light on the dashboard should be a dollar sign. That, and the engine light keep coming on and she goes into limp mode. I just replaced the throttle pedal sensor and the negative battery cable and another sensor that I can't remember. I don't know what she wants now but I'll have to find out.
I have this gorgeous car parked in my driveway and how am I getting to work? My daughter drives me in her ancient little Ford Escort. Talk about embarrassing... Luckily, my ex-husband is a mechanic and that's saved me the cost of labor so I can't complain. If I had tons of money, I'd love to have a Jag convertible and a Mark 7. Red, of course!
I'm looking forward to chatting about Jaguars here and meeting other Jag lovers.

Did someone mention my name ...?
Hi Jo, and welcome to the forum.
Should you find yourself becoming unhappy and dissatisfied with your Jaguar, perhaps a minor change in perception is in order.
I stopped thinking of my XJ40 as an automobile and now refer to it as 'yard art'.
I'm much happier now. The neighbors not so much.
Yours is a lovely area of the country. I got to spend a year or so in the general neighborhood (Portsmouth) in the mid '60s, courtesy of the US Navy.
Virginia was great, the circumstances pretty much sucked.
Good luck with your busted kitty.

LOL, Retro! Oh God, she's a bad kitty! Yard art?! No, no, Baby has to run. She loves to run on the interstate... just after she prowls while leaving the neighborhood. I'm hoping my ex can check her tonight and get the trouble code and I'll buy the part tomorrow so he can hurry up and put it on. Again. This is the fourth time since June. The local Jag dealership's parts department knows me by my first name. That's bad, isn't it? lol I may have to limp her there for a full diagnostic. Ugh! I had no problems with her the first year; she's playing with me. Bad, bad kitty. But she does look so lovely in the driveway.
