Default Hit a curb, blew driver side tires. 95 XJ6 won’t start

I hit a curb last week and blew both drivers side tires. Did bend the rims thankfully. Started the car and moved it about 1000 meters. Parked it for a week. Went to drive it today. Started then immediately stalled. Turns over but won’t ignite. Any problem solving starting pointers?

Welcome.

Might pay to add your location, it does make a difference.

I will assume?????

The 1000metres was without the engine running??????.

If so, then the meeting of car and curb has probably triggered the Inertia Safety Switch. Simply push it back down, and go on your merry way.

If that"move" was with the engine running, NOPE. not that switch, and the list gets loooooong.

Repost the ask in the X300 Tech Section for more answers.

That's the second curbing incident I've heard of this week. However, the other one resulted in Much damage to the car. I hope yours is an easy fix.

Welcome. Definitely check the inertia switch, but I’m not sure why it would work the way you described. Maybe some Varmit is plugging your intake?? And the ever popular- you got gas in it, right? Not being mean, just going at easy basics.

Welcome to the forum Daviesjohn,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X300 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/canada-73/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
