Default Hoping for advice over the weekend

Hi ladies and gentlemen. I'm Steve and a newbie to the forum. I'm in NW Indiana, and have had my 2007 S-Type, V8 for 9 months. Bought it on a whim, with 27,000 miles, now have 38,000, and have loved it. Last night I got into the car after dark, and the lights didn't come on. So I flipped them on, never thinking another thing about it. This morning, the doors didn't open with the key fob, and I immediately realized I turned the lights ON, not on AUTO as normal, so the car was dead. I jumped it-no problem. Then got in and although the shifter would move, the car wouldn't. The Electronic Parking Brake was locked! I couldn't find anything in the manual. If it is in there I missed it. Found this site and tried the "turn off and pull out key while holding parking brake down" technique. Didn't work. So I had it towed (on a flatbed) to a recommended mechanic. So he tells me he has the EPB released, but there is still a loud warning buzzer. As of 6:30 on Friday night, he doesn't know what is wrong. So no vehicle until at least Monday, when he starts working on it and racking up the time, I'm sure. I've read alot here about resetting/recalibrating the EPB, but not what happens if this doesn't work. Hope to hear from some kind sole over the weekend. Have a great weekend Jag lovers.

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
You obviously need help so I'm going to copy your post into the S section.
Make sure your battery is fully charged, do a hard reset, then carry out the EPB reset procedure.
Good luck!

You should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
