i recently picked up a running 03 Xtype 2.5l automatic for $600.... so you can assume the worst.. for any vehicle ive ever owned i take the importance of maintenance of both fluids and filters very seriously. but obviously the 3 owners before me did not.. after 2 weeks of driving(replacing all fluids and and adding every cleaning agent necessary) the rod bearing blows... and the engine seized seconds after... then i realize my thermostat was not correctly registering how ridiculously hot my engine was, as it never left half mast, and the engine fans blew for an hour after it seized... i need some help from this avid jag loving community.. and if anyone could oblige me in my request for aide it would greatly appreciated, and not forgotten. i am confident i can come up with whatever work needs to be done or parts that need to be acquired. i just dont have the funds to play "ill just replace parts till i figure it out" game. i would go to the dealership if i wanted to do that. lolol if there are any other phoenix jagsters, feel free to hit me up and lets go grab a beer! but dont laugh when i roll up in my 96 geo metro back up car...

Welcome to the forum Keegan Canida,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Sorry to hear about the engine.
I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link US Southwest - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
