Howdy Pardners...Back to the well for another!
Hello! We just yesterday picked up a 2005 X-type Wagon 3.0 AWD for my son to work on with me as he gains his driving permit and license. The car is (very) well used but seemed to be more or less taken care for at least the first two of three owners. Currently 168k miles with a couple of codes we are chasing down and a list of projects to work on and some other issues that can't be fixed as easily (paint!). Perfect first car for him!
But we are a returning owner, having owned a 2002 X-type 2.5 AWD sedan from 2004-2006 - once the warranty expired we sold it to the inlaws who had minimal issues up to 100k when they sold it too.. Here's a link to a story about it: (***** link removed - GGG *****) (COAL stands for Cars Of A Lifetime), this was part of a series about the 45 or so cars of mine so far...Back then nobody really cared about forums for these cars as everything was covered under the warranty, the huge support available nowadays makes wading back into these here waters very palatable. Re-reading it eight years after writing it the last sentence strikes me as prophetic: "Maybe I’m the only one, but our Jaguar never left us stranded, the electrical system was flawless, the car was a pleasure to drive and own, and overall I would not refuse to own another. (But it would definitely be the wagon next time)!" And here we are with a wagon...
So far the car is a blast to drive and once the issues get sorted, it'll be even better.
I'll be seeing y'all around, thanks!
