Welcome BlackCat2000! I also am from the DFW area and am a fairly new but most appreciative participant in this Forum. I have learned far more than I have been able to give back.

You will be ahead of the game if you find and rely upon a truly competent independent Jag mechanic. In the DFW area I can personally recommend JagMac, 2320 Merrell Road, Dallas, TX 75229 (www.jagmacjaguartexas.com). This is a father/son team who know Jags inside and out! They aren't cheap (the good ones never are) but there is never a worry about incompetence, bad advice or personal integrity. At least that has been my experience with them for the almost 4 years I have owned a Jag. I predict you will love owning one, but exper higher maintenance costs as part of the price.

I also am not going to say how old I am, but as of yesterday I am no longer 78.

Hey there; yeah, its got a lot of stuff to learn about. And they all break; its as inevitable as entropy. So what was your first car...? Mine was a '64 Falcon sedan with a dent in every piece of sheet metal, a 170 cid inline 6 with a 2-speed auto and A/C. Sky blue. A/C was necessary to get dates down in Pasadena, Tx... real sticky there.

... and I once passed on a black '62 XKE roadster I found in Mobile Alabama on a biz trip; for $1200.00 [sigh]

All: Thanks for the welcome. I will be around thats for sure. I am somewhat picture and camara challenged, but I'll get some pix up when I can. So far the car is a real joy. It will be good to get to know all of you. Maybe after I have a chance to learn something about this cat, I can help out a bit. It should be fun.
