Default I finally got my cat! What did I get myself into?!

Greetings from New Orleans! As of last night I'm a proud owner of a 1988 Jaguar XJS V12. So far I have learned several life lessons by owning the car. 1) when buying a car you have always wanted, take someone with you to point out not just minor flaws but the big ones that you over looked because your eyes were glazed over with excitement . 2) After rereading Kirby's book a dozen times READ IT AGAIN lol. I was told that the only thing wrong was the Lucas AB14 box and I already did the research and bought the $20 GM part. I did not notice all the burnt wires in the engine bay BUT the car does have a complete wiring harness and a crap load of extra parts so I feel confident that my buddy and I can repair everything. I plan on using the car for autocross and some daily driving. So I'm sure I'll be asking yall a bunch of questions. I picked up the car for only $1200usd so at least I'm not in too deep... yet... lol

That car has one good thing, the best forum on the planet Welcome to the forums! congrats on your purchase. I recommend that you tackle one problem at a time when posting questions on the forums. In my opinion the XJS is the best looking Jag there ever was, but I rather the straight 6 not the V12. Here in Miami they don't do so good. Best of luck!

Welcome, I agree with Daxter1987 "one of Jaguar's best looking ever"... As the owner of an XJS 89 Collection Rouge as well as a few others, they can be a bit overwhelming at times, take it slow. Beautiful cars !
