Default As I get older ....

...I don't seem to be getting any wiser.
Greetings from the Great White North .....more precisely, the hot dry desert of Southern Interior British Columbia, Canada.
Will I never learn? I'm in love again, this time with Mr.Carson .....a 1997 4.0l XJ6 Vanden Plas, in Sapphire blue. His odometer says 135237 km, which I think is maybe 15000 too low, but c'est la vie....
My new 10-day old love is superb cosmetically, not a blemish or rust spot ......and the 250 km trip through the mountains from the coast was exhilarating; just what he was designed for. (Only a couple of minor - I hope - hiccups )
His purchase was helped tremendously by the wealth of helpful information on this forum ....many thanks to everyone.
About me (John).......I'm a fully certified O.F.......an expat Brit living in Canada most of my years .....rebuilt my first engine on my Dad's 1955 Standard 10 when I was 16.....have owned /maintained/rebuilt just about every make of vehicle over the years ....following the principle that if you want a job doing right, then ........
My last car from Brown's Lane was a 1961 Mk II with the 3.4..... a complete restoration starting with removing the engine in my Calgary driveway one cold November many years ago....
Looking forward to many happy /frustrating /aggravating hours with Mr. Carson ..
Intro you wanted .....too much intro you got!

I think none of us will ever learn, John, because so many others like you come here and ask If they've lost their mind, Have they not had enough of these Mystifying cars, Will they ever learn, etc., etc.

During my short ownership I've begun to think Jaguar cars are as hypnotic as their feline namesakes, and so hold us prisoner until we die. And even then there may be a question.

Welcome from ElinorB.

Many thanks Jim for the upgrade; guess I'll try again now at uploading some pics. Hope I'll be able to contribute to the forums soon.

Hi and welcome from a fellow Canadian. I see you've found your way to the tech section with a DRL question (good one BTW).

Enjoy the site and please drop by the Canadian regional section now and then to see what's going on.

Welcome John from the other coast.
Removing an engine in a Calgary driveway in November, that gave me a chill. Then again I've done my best work wearing Stanfields.

A late 'Welcome' to Jaguar Forums from me Fazakerly.

I've been away driving my Jaguar across Europe and had no internet access.
