I want to buy my first Jag
Hi There,
I am seriously considering to buy a Jag, please would you mind to recommend what is the best? Which is the most dependable, reliable and comfortable model among X-Type, S, or XJ? Which years 90's, 2001, 2002, 2003? etc.
I don't want to buy one and to be disappoint in a week!
My budget is around 6k-10k, so I can't afford to buy a new one!
Any comment would be appreciated.
Thanks and best regards,
Oscar.

Welcome to the forum Oscar,
Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.
From your selection of models, you clearly want a four door so the XK8/XKR Coupe or Convertible is not under consideration.
The critical consideration with a used Jaguar is comprehensive service history. All the models need regular maintenance to perform well and be trouble-free. In general, go for the later model in the range you like. It will have benefited from development and improvements.

3. XJ8

The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

We don't want you disappointed either so the key is read and research the model you decide on and understand the weak spots so that you don't end up with someone else's problems.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
