I'm new to all this.
As the man said to his doctor, 'I've got a little problem'!!
I have had the XJ for a little over 2 years and am a very happy bunny.
Recently I had new bearings put in the front wheels and ever since, the boot remote release says VALET MODE and the only way I can open the boot is by getting out and opening it with the black key.
I did pick up one hint which suggested that if I removed fuse 10 in the boot, then re-inserted it that would solve the problem. It didn't !!
There is only info on how to switch ON the Valet Mode in the handbook and none of the Jaguar dealers I have spoken to can help, even in exchange for currency, which for Jag dealers is odd in the extreme.
Cheers,
Mike P.

When the car is put into the Valet mode the only way to open the trunk is with the remote or the black headed key the green headed key will not do it no matter how many times you toggle the switch. If I recall canceling the Valet you must have the black headed key in the ignition and on when you toggle the valet to the normal position. One other thing for you to check is if the valet switch is stuck or being depressed by an object causing it to remain on. I have not had a reason to set or reset the valet for several years but I think this process is correct.

I'm sure thats good advice by Gus and we'd like to know how you get on in any event.
If you still have problems try asking again in the general tech help section and or very nicely ask one of the techs......Good luck
I've manually upgraded you to full forum access so you can better view the site and all its features.
