Default I'm a new member

My name is Roy Shelor and I live in Tennessee USA. I aquired a 2001 Jaguar XK8 through a trade. I am very happy with this car. It's my first Jaguar and I find it interesting to say the least. I've read notes from this forum and have been able to fix several issues that gave the previous owner headaches. I have been a successful "shade tree" mechanic for some 43 years and I must say this forum is one of the more technical and friendly forms I've seen.

Hello, Roy,
Congratulations on your "new" Jaguar!
'Interesting' is a good way to describe a Jaguar. They're certainly different from Mercan cars. But as you know, mechanical principles are the same no matter the brand. Being a successful Shade Tree mechanic, you'll get on just fine with your cat.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Default Thank you ElinorB

Thank you ElinorB. I do agree the Jaguar is a different animal and after only having the car a few weeks I look forward to the adventure.

welcome to the forum - as you have found - a wealth of info and support.

No need for links to the tech section but a reminder that the first few threads are loaded with how to videos, downloads, etc.

Lastly - recommend adding a signature to your profile by clicking the User CP link in the upper left of the forum page. Include model and year for best responses to your questions

Welcome to the forum Roy,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Southern Midwest Region forum by following this link US Southern Midwest - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Thank you Graham. I will be visiting the other forums as this coming year will be a travel year for me and the 48 states have roads. I'm doing a lot of preventive maintenance for the for mentioned journey. Thanks again and I'm sure we will talk again.
