Default I'm new and thinking of joining the club

Short story I was involved in a accident with a F350 hauling a trailer, a Ford expedition and myself, my wife, and our two kids in a smaller late 90's Buick century. Seems the guy thought stop signs are optional.

Well after some hip surgery and some "fun" times I have a little extra money from the settlement I'm trying to find a car and so been looking at one of my child hood likes the STR. Come on V8 and a supercharger. Whats not to like :-)
Figured I would join the club here see what I can learn before I make the purchase to see what I can find out about them.

Welcome! All I can say is buy one! It is truly a Jekyll/Hyde type car. You can drive it like a little old man and it behaves like a proper English gentleman. But at a moment's notice (and some right foot pressure) you feel like you are at the wheel of a nimble high-powered sports car.

My main worry is taking care of it and issues right now. I'm not rich by any means and I just don't want to get myself into a car that is a money pit. Trying to look into it but it seems compared to the German counterparts (M5, M3, 540i and such) There just isn't much info out there. No idea what major issues to look for, or what I should check when buying the car.
Other wise it seems they do drive nice and when you think of hitting the gas they do scoot. :-) Put a smile on my face.

Currently have a thread going here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...y-help-111060/ to hopefully get more info on it.

Welcome to the forum txking,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. I hope you are fully recovered from the accident.

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type tech section so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link Western US - AK CA NV OR UT HI WA ID - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the search for the STR and enjoy the forums.
