Unhappy I'm sick, my 2000 S-Type rear seat needs repair.

I just got my 2000 S-Type back from the collision shop last week, but didn't notice the black marks on the rear seat until a few days later.

It appears that they put a tire in the rearseat, and it left black tread marks on the light grey leather interior. When I returned to the shop to show them the marks and asked them to clean the seat, the guy used something that took the finish of the leather! He said there was a problem, and that he will make it right and replace the leather seat covering.

What is the best way to do this? Can you get the same leather for a 12 year old car? I'm not sure I trust them to do it right, any suggestions???

Jane1227 - Welcome to the forum!

You might get some helpful feedback and responses if you post in the following sections:

S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Hopefully, the shop will make this right for you.

I personally think you will have to source out a used rear seat for your S Type as I'm sure if replacement material is available it's going to be expensive - again, ask away as there are many dedicated folks on this forum that will be more than willing to help.

Also, when you have the opportunity - check out the NE Regional Page. The link is below.

Enjoy the forum and take care - Anthony

OMG, that made me so very angry to read that! Who would do something like that to a Jag?

I can't tell you what I would have done to the guy who did that to my car.

Glad to hear you have your fair share of "Bubba" redneck idiots in NY.

Welcome to the forum Jane,

Hope they were better on bodywork than they were with interiors. Not surprised you're feeling sick.

Good advice above on where to look for information.

If you're looking for replacement leather or a replacement seat, post the 3-Letter Trim Code from the label on the driver's door post. This identifies the colour of the leather.
