Default Interior from 2002 S type to a 2005 S type?

I have a 2005 S type. I hate the black interior!! I recently found a 2002 S type with excellent tan interior. Will the interior (Seats, dash, headliner etc) from the 2002 S type fith my 2005 S type?

Welcome to the Forums.

The S Type Tech Section may have the answers.

Depending IF the 2002 is a late X200, or an early X202?????, and then yours would be an X204?, and that is where I dont know.

I know the dash is different, and the electrickery for seats and so on, would make it extremely time consuming. X200 to X202 I am referring to.

A professional colour change would be simpler and waaaaay cheaper.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Michael,

I agree with Grant. It's far from a straightforward swap.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome, Michael. The 2002.5 MY for the "rest of the world" was introduced as a 2003 model here in the States. I would say that the trouble of attempting any interior swap from a 2002 model would more than offset any positive results. It is basically a "no go" in my humble opinion...

Thank You everyone for the Welcoming!!

A little background on this little girl, its a 2005 JAGUAR S-TYPE 4.2L. it caught my attention at a local auction, and with only 129k miles on it, I practically stole the car at $700. Runs fine, only issue I found besides some shoody body work from a rear impact crash is the drains on the sunroof was clogged, when raining let water in.

I drove it from the auction and fell in love with it. I have done a few upgrades like LED headlights and fog lamps. I am prepping it to have it repainted after getting rid of tons of bondo.

I was asking about the interior because I found the 2002 with a frontend crash, the interior is immaculate like the day it rolled off the assembly line. I can get all the interior for $200, which is way cheaper then getting it all reupholstered. I will double check the exact date of the donor car.

And thank you for all the imput!!
