Hello, all. I am closing the purchase of a 2007 XK Coupe 4.2 base in a couple of days. An online search lead me to the car, which has a little over 30k miles, is owned locally and in awesome condition (see picture below, from the listing).
I live in the northeast US, am semi-retired and just ended my most recent (last?) career on two wheels by selling my Yamaha FJR1300. COVID and other health-related issues in the family pushed me towards a ride with more metal surrounding me. I have owned everything from econo-boxes to a Porsche, but this will be my first Jaguar. My other current ride is a Subaru Outback 3.2R. I have been a ski instructor for the last 9 years, and also like blackwater kayaking. As a former college rower, I fight to keep in shape with a Concept 2 rowing machine - sadly, it's a fight I am losing.
I have admired - OK, lusted after - the Jaguar GT line since the first XKE was introduced. I see this car as inheriting a lot of the genes of the XKE series, and love everything about it - so far (hope that continues!). I found this forum when researching how to upgrade the infotainment system to accept audio from my iPhone, and it looks like I hit a rich lode of enthusiastic, informative and helpful owners. I hope at some point I can begin to contribute positively, but until I get up the learning curve with this car I'm going to have to be a taker, not a giver.
Thanks to the mods for their tireless work helping members and keeping things moving. I look forward to participating.
