Default Intro

Hello everyone .... My name is Nate , I'm just a 44 year old father of 2 white guy in IN. When I was just a boy Jaguar had a commercial that ran where a live Jaguar jumped & morphed into the hood ornament and I always wanted to own one after watching that commercial. 3 years ago I left my house to buy a 2020 Toyota Corolla ; & came home in a 04 Jaguar X type 3.0. I 'd forgotten all about my childhood dream of owning one until I ran across this one at my fav local lot , but after a bit of research felt like I had to have it cuz it was a 1 owner barely driven ( 37k mi ) almost a classic Jaguar at a price I felt was a steal.
4 months ago a lady smoking crack behind the wheel of a Toyota Corolla no less ; ran a red light & T boned my " baby". I talked it up like it was totalled and the ladies insurance paid me in full plus some & that was after allowing me to buy it back. Turns out that the frame & or subframe were not bent like I suspected , it had only trashed the driver doors & one of the rear wheel assemblies.
Being that salvage title Jags in the era are fairly cheap , my restoration plan was to grab one that had been wrecked in a different area to ****** parts from since that would be far cheaper than individual part purchases.
So my question is this are any of the other years of X type parts interchangeable with the 04 3.0 or do I have to get an 04 only ??

Welcome to the Forums.

Some cosmetics in late 2008, for the final model run is all I can recall.

Ask in the X Type X400 Tech area, those Guru's will know for sure with body panels etc.

Good luck.

Welcome Nate. I have a rebuilt title as well. I have put way more work into it than I will ever get back (and I didnt even do the body repairs) but its generally a hoot to drive and I suspect doing that work yourself will help bond you 2 even more. I cant answer your questions though, sorry.
