Default Intro from South Africa (now with pics)

Hi all,

As the nick suggests, I'm Spyke and a first time Jaguar owner. I recently acquired a 2003 X-Type 3.0 SE Sport with respectable mileage for an even better price. So far, I'm quite enjoying the car so far barre the few small issues (I'll raise these in the X-Type forum after a thorough search).

Hoping to get some interesting info from the forum wrt the brand and model.

Other than that, I'm a 29yo Technical Editor for a motoring publication in SA and motorsports commentator in my spare time.

Hi!

Welcome, Spyke. And welcome to the wonderful world of Jaguars!! I enjoyed a trip to Johannesburg back in the early 1990's. South Africa was a bit unsettled back then, but still beautiful. A "photo safari" out to Kruger National Park remains one of the highlights of my travel experiences.

All the best,

Welcome Spyke,

You've got some great countryside to enjoy the car in, I also have happy memories of my visits to SA and not so good ones of a speeding ticket in Benoni.

Thanks a mil Jim, much appreciated. I'll be sure to check out the sections you've listed too.

@Norri - I feel your pain, it's nigh on impossible to pass through Benoni without picking up a race of sorts - whether it's 3am or 5pm.

nice lookin Sport there Spyke

you might wanna consider upgrading the side repeaters to the clear versions you can get on Ebay? Very cheap money and simple mod that lifts the car
