Default Intro Tire Question

Greetings to all from a newbie 2005 3.0 S-Type driver from Indiana. Anyone out there use the Continental DWS tires on their S-Type? Will need new tires soon and I hear good things from my MB S-Series friends who use them.

Pilot91: Welcome to the best auto forum on the internet.

You didn't say whether you were looking for 16" tires--or 18" for the R model. If you've got 16" tires, you have a bunch of good choices.

The 18" S models apparantly use different size tires, and the 35 series rear tires limit the available model tires. The Yokohama Avad's look like a good choice vs price on 18" tires.

I always look at the product tests/reports/customer evaluations on TireRack.com when buying tires. Then I look at their prices and TreadDepot.com--both supporters of this forum--for the best price relative to the quality.

After 50+ new cars, I've had virtually every brand of tire. My local garage told me last week that they're experiencing big price increases on their tires. They speak highly of Toyo and Michelin's (big $)--and less highly of Kumho (now mid priced.)
The last Continentals I had rang like a bell, however you're looking at higher quality Continentals than my OEM replacements.

A little research on the internet quickly brings the best tires for your use to the top.

Welcome to the forum,

Glad to have you with us

The tyre question is similar to asking "Which is the best oil?" both likely to rouse a lot of debate.
Please ask the question in one of the tech forums and reserve this area for welcomes.

Welcome to the forum Pilot. Hmm, Michelin Pilots spring to mind, but you really need to look at the model specific section and maybe the Wheels and Tyres section.
