Introducing…Newbie
Hello to all and sundry.
First impressions sometimes count so here goes.
Let me start with a whimsical tale as to how I arrived here.
Back in ancient times of the first Victorian (Geelong) pandemic lockdown I logged in to Gumtree with great determination to buy a computer table. Following a few stumbles and a fortuitous accident I noticed an advert which turned out to be be a private sale for a very very nice looking vehicle.
I was instantly drawn to the beauty, style and engineering magnificence.
Intrigued I contacted the seller of said vehicle and arranged for a viewing with the hopeful intention of a test drive.
Within 30 min there it was, a 2002 Jaguar S-Type SE Auto. I was smitten and before any introduction was made or indeed any viewing I had to buy what has turned out to be my prized possession.
$7,000 later I was the proudest person in my street and indeed my inner world.
80,000 miles on the clock at the time and immaculate.
I have yet to buy a computer table some 2 years later.
My gratitude to KiwiJon for opportunity to be a part of Jaguarforums.
I shall attempt to post photos as soon as possible.
Thank you
Col

Hello, Col,
Like all the Aussies I have mat, you spin a good yarn.
I know it's a bit late but Congratulations on your serendipitous find of your First Jaguar!
(Who needs computer table when you can have a Jaaag!)
It's frequently Love at First Sight with Jags.
Also, in this part of the world, $7000 for a running car is an absolute Steal! Good Job!
80,000 miles is just now well loosened up and broken in.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks Elinor. For the record I was born in Macclesfield, grew up in Blackpool before we came to Oz in 1981.
I’m glad I raised a smile and thanks for the compliment.
Live at first sight alright.
For the initial 2 months driving by myself was akin to a teenage romance. Awkward, fumbling, overawed.
My brother took 3 months to get the courage to take a drive around the block due to nerves
My mum (82) cried when she first got int and my dad was beaming.
Now there’s no going back.
You don’t drive a Jaguar you be transported
Fellow owners wave and flash lights
As you sagely pointed out, nicely worn in and I can always take my iPad in to my Jag.
Thanks again Elinor and I include everyone who has extended a wonderful welcome my way.
