Default Introducing myself as a new member.

Hello jag community. I am just now after 2 years of owning my 2004 Jaguar XJ8 base, joining the forums as a member. I am somewhat familiar with the site as I use it quite often for information and learning about this fantastic car.
I am 28, a father of two boys, 9 and 4, married for 10 years, currently live in Southern CA and can't wait to go back to Northern Nevada. No offense to anyone from SoCal but I like open space, guns, and people that hold the door for you instead of pushing you out of the way to get inside first.
I'm a firearms instructor and have been so for 5 years. Primarily I teach civilians but as we have a couple agencies that use our facilities I have had the privilege of teaching and helping train officers with their firearms.

As I said, I bought a 2004 XJ8 with 105k miles 2 years ago and despite having some issues, absolutely love this car. This car is beautiful inside and out. Silver with cream leather, no rips and I try to keep it cleaned and maintained as best I can.
The issues are in places that you can't see but can definitely feel. I installed a coilover kit my first year owning it because the air suspension module went into belly down mode which looked badass but almost useless when driving when you can't hit a lane marker without breaking your spine. Replaced outer tie rods and front stabilizer links. Brakes need to be replaced. I put a cheap disc and pad set on the front and they feel terrible. Rears are just worn.
I was a tech at Ford before moving back to CA so I like doing all my own work as long as i can.

That's about it so hello again and I look forward to learning from those willing to share their knowledge.

.

Hello,
Congratulations on your successful repairs! Not everyone would have taken this on. I personally like Jags lowered about 2 inches but there Is a limit! That limit is passed when comfort is compromised.

Most of us in here feel about our Jaguars the way you feel about yours.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Cserv,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

As you've already found your way to the the X350 forum there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
