Introducing myself, Nick Wood from France
Hi all,
Just bought my first Jaguar XJ8 from a dealer I know very well, will be a surprise when I'm going to pick up the car next week but I'm confident.
A little background on me, I'm Dutch but I live in France. Cars have always been a passion for me and I got some nice ones. My daily driver is a BMW 7-series, 740i with the 4.4L V8 in it and tuned to 330hp. Bought my wife a BMW Z3 Coupe with the 2.8L straight six in it and on top of that I got a 25 years old Honda CRX in perfect condition.
I like to rebuild engines especially the complicated ones like the 4 cam BMW V8's. If there is anyone who like to see the photo's I'll be happy to post them.
Still looking for a good Rolls Royce, last week I bought one through eBay but on arrival in London it wouldn't budge. In drive it was going nowhere so I left it for what it was. Strange thing was it would move forward with enough throttle putting the gear lever in reverse.
Back to the Jaguar, it's my wife who wanted it because it was the first car she ever drove, even before having a license. Who am I to say no?
Anyway, I'll keep you posted on the developments.
Nick.

Thank you very much, I will update my profile when I got the car sitting in my drive.
For one reason or another I have always been a member of US-based forums so going local is not necessary for me.
If this Jaguar isn't what I expect it to be I'll sell it on and go looking for a rare 420G, I've always been a fan of Jaguar but now, 58 years of age, I finally bought my first one.
