Jag XK8 4.2 thermostat housing UK
Hi there
I have been enjoying driving my jag through the summer but recent noticed a small leak of coolant at the plastic connection of the heater hose clips on the Octopus hose.
I took it to local Jag specialist and he changed the water pump also becuase bearing was gone.
After this the plastic thermostat housing has developed a leak and it seems difficult to source them and because its a 4.2 from 2003 there doesnt seem to be a metallic replacement option.
Help!
Thanks
Paul

@PaulXK8, the water outlet and thermostat come as an assembly on the 4.2 litre unit. There currently is no aluminium or metal substitution for the OEM plastic part.
Removing the part that bolts to the block using four Torx screws can be fiddly and sometimes requires removal of the inlet manifold.
The heater return hose under the inlet manifold that goes to the EGR valve is a known failure point and should be replaced whilst the inlet manifold is removed.
