Jaguar owner for 1st time
Hi to you all and looking forward to learning a lot from you.
Just bought a low-mileage 2016 XE petrol automatic, due to collect Monday.
First thought is about servicing. I have tended to avoid dealerships and prefer local independents but does this apply to Jaguars? Service/MOT not due untik September so I have time to research around here in Prestwick, Ayrshire but any advice really welcomed.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums PVS,
Good to have you with us.
There's nothing complicated in Jaguar scheduled services that prevents this being done by an independent or DIY. As a UK vehicle, your XE should have a full OSH (OnLine service History) if it has been serviced by a JLR Dealer which you can download here:
https://osh.jaguar.com/
This will also allow you to download the itemised service schedules to see what is required.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xe-x760-85/ to the X760 forum for help, advice and information. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

Hello,
The thing about Independent Auto Techs, it's all about their local reputation.
If they have a GOOD reputation among your friends and associates, they'll probably do as good a job on your Jag as they would on your Dodge or Ford so to speak.
When you hear about one your friends like, go talk to them face to face. Ask questions. Be specific. Then you're equipped to make an informed decision.
I wish you success.
