Default Jaguar S-Type 2001 from Canada

Hi guys, I am new to the forum, saw the intro is a must, so here I am. The Jag I own has 138km on it and the only thing that bugs me so much is the transmission. Sometimes the car has difficulty going into drive and has delayed shifts, especially noticeable going from first to second, but again, not at all times. Feel like I have maybe 10-15k more until it breaks down. So that is the reason I went to the forum in the first place. Anyway, hope everyone is having a great day, if you want to ask me for more details, feel free, I am happy to answer. Not sure what else I should put in here.

From one S-type owner to another... Welcome. The S-type forum is populated with a very friendly group and contains a wealth of knowledge.

As Graham has already pointed out, the S-type technical forum is the place to discuss your transmissions issues; that said, the bad news is that your 2001 has the 5-speed Ford autobox. The good news is that there are a "gillion" of them in the wild, so repairs will be much more reasonable than the 6-speed ZF unit that followed in 2003.
