Hi there to you all ![Icon User](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_user.gif)
Just to keep you up to speed on what's new in the Jaguar Petrol Cap range COMMERCIAL LINK REMOVED we are very pleased to announce that after a long development stage we are now just about to take delivery of a Locking Petrol Cap Conversion to the age old problem for the Jaguar XJ40 (1988 to 1991)(chassis # V506664 -> V629285), we know that you can already purchase a non locking version CBC5292, but we have constantly been asked for a locking version.
Well it's not far away and you heard it here FIRST, it will resolve two problems firstly it will be a Locking Petrol Cap & secondly it will convert the original screw type to a conventional bayonet operation, this means it will be far more user friendly,
Well what's it all about you may ask, I will explain in the steps below
1 - Remove the original (non locking)
2 -Dry fit the new Black/Silver adapter (without cap)
3 - Fit cap and check for any obstructions (should be none)
4 - Now you are happy cote the inner adapter thread with the bonding agent supplied (cap off) screw down onto the filler neck until it will go no further
5 - Leave for about 30 minutes until activated
6 - Now fit the new Cap supplied and your all done.
For extra piece of mind there will not only be a o-ring seal in the adapter that fits on to the original neck but a seal from the adapter to bayonet converter, this will eliminate any vapor issues you may get.
I will post the images of the final finished item as soon as the final test fit has been complete, if you would like to know more please feel free to contact me, and if you know any specialists who may be interested in becoming a stockist we would be very happy to talk to them, this in turn will bring down the cost to you in the US
Thanks for being a Jaguar owner
