Jaguar xjs steering /driving issue
Hi all I have not long purchased a 1989 xjs v12 85000 on the clock when I brought the car a few weeks ago on the drive back I could feel that the car was dangerously pulling to the left when I was on the motorway passing lorries and when there was cross wind the car was all over the road ! It was a very scary 200mile drive I also took it out the other night (after doing a repair job to the power steering pipe that also went pop on that same journey 😅 ) I noticed the steering wheel was very wavey when driving at 30 and didn't feel likeninhad properly controle of the car what do you all think the issue could be i am thinking warn steering rack bushes am I correct ?

Welcome to the forums Kallum,
I also think the bushes are a likely culprit. Members with the same model will be better informed than me.

Correct. Common failure.
There might be other causes such as tires separating, wear elsewhere in the suspension, or the wheels badly out of alignment. But, yes, the rack bushings are the first thing to look at.
Cheers

Hello, Kallum,
I can tell you from personal experience that in fact steering rack bushings can make a car behave just as you describe.
While you're checking those out, it would also be a good idea to take a Very close inspection of lower wishbone bushings.
