Hi all!

I own a 2001 XK Convertible for about two years now and on the whole I have no regrets about my decision so far.
I tumbled about this forum when looking for an update of the poor XK navigation system (like a lot of other users do) and I found some very interesting approaches here.
Unfortunately my technical skills are too low to implement one of workarounds so far... While there's life, there's hope...

Keep up the good work.
Greetings

Welcome vissuluth,

With no regrets, other than not being able to find a quick fix for the outdated navigation system, it sounds like you've had no major issues with the XK8 in two years.

Hope it continues to run well.

Thanks Graham,

the rear shocks were changed recently with 130.00 KM, that's OK I think. Maybe I had some luck buying this car as it was pre-owned by an elderly gentleman being a children's doctor who obviously took some care of the car.
Ah, and I changed the front lights to Xenon, as the factory illumination was too dim for my taste.

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
Some people have just stuck a garmin or similar on the top of the old screen, a bit crude but effective and low tech.

You should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

One careful previous owner is a good one to have found. I'm surprised you haven't had to do the front shocks and wishbone bushes unless recently done before you purchased the vehicle.

I never thought about how dim the headlights were on my 2001 XK8 until I changed it for a 2005 with HID's.

Thanks Norri,

I've seen some pictures of a garmin glued somehow to the original screen. Not my cup of tea, I like a car 'original style'.
I have to wait for an easy-to-fit solution for noobs, keeping the look.

@Graham

After driving for a while with the new rear shocks now, I realized to change the front shocks, too.

P.S. Changed the signature
