Default Just bought a 1995 XJ6 with 107K that needs work

Hi All,

I just bought a 1995 XJ6 with 107K on the odometer. The exterior is decent, save for some paint flaking and the interior is in surprisingly good shape for the age.

Despite good compression the car runs and idles poorly. Exhaust manifold is cracked and Airbag light is on.

I am not new to wrenching on cars and I have a generic OBDII scanner (Elm 327). I am wondering if there are any advanced DIY-friendly diagnostic options for X300. I think I may need to reset the adaptive values once I am done with mechanical repairs.

Welcome to the world of Jaguar! An XJ6 like you found is a good place to start. Not too old, not too new! With some attention and care, your XJ6 can become all you want it to be, while still being affordable. See you around X300, we will assist with your efforts. First, change the spark plugs!
