Just bought a 2001 S Type Black on Black.
Hello,
I'm John and my better half is Laurel, whom had a champaigne colored leased S type new in 2003. She always liked the S-Type. However the dealer wanted more than blue book at return time so we returned it. Fast forward, I was cruising through Cars.com on the internet and found this 2001 S type Jag at Peter Pan BMW. Ironically where we bought our 2003 BMW 325i. So, I called up and talked about the car and bought it the next day. It was extremely low miles at 28K miles when we picked it up, clean CARFAX, and fully inspected by the BMW dealer as well as detailed. One of my other cars is a 1996 Land Rover Discovery with "stuff" on it for rock crawling and "Rubicon" tested. It's still going at 165K miles. BMW at 145k miles and the new Jag to us at 28K miles. We keep cars a long time. I do quite a bit of my own repairs on the fleet. For example I this summer dropped in a "donor" 1999 LR 4.0 v8, engine, transm., transfer case into my 1996 LR. I blew up the transfer case on my 1996. It was better for me in the long run to change it all out vs fix all the oil leaks "British", on the original engine. Plus the donor had a brand new top end.
So I'm currently tackling a misfire and a rain forest in the engine compartment. I'll post my repair once completed in the next few days. Love this forum. Hope to help out you all with something in the future as you have already helped me out with the JTIS manual, rain forest, and the miss fire issue. Thanks!
