just bought a 2006 XKR convertible
Hi all, just joined the site, and finding my way around. Bought the car 3 weeks ago just before our hols in Turkey. It is a replacement for my previous XKR a 2002 black convtible. It was my pride and joy but got written off in january by a kindly dutchman who had forgotton he was in the Uk and was driving on my side of the road and we met head on around a blind corner
I decided to go for the alli bodied latest model in silver this time, as although the black looked great when just cleaned, it didn't stay that way for long
Although the car ran superbly when I first bought it, the active lighting warning light came on last week, back to the dealer, it was the active module that was faulty, over £700 for a new one luckily not me paying, I hope this isnt a sign of things to come?
I will post pics when i work out how to do it, any guidence gratefully received.

Welcome - Very nice choice. My preference is black, but I do spend my life keeping it cleaned.
The new style XKR should be pretty reliable. Just an anomaly, hopefully.
One thing - Do NOT be fooled by the notation in the Driver's handbook that you cannot accidentally lock the smart FOB in the car. It does lock itself in. I know a few who have, at the most inconvenient times...with the motor running and no spare fob. Always take it out of the car when exiting!
All the Best,
