Wow! 19K
Hi XKR-100
19K that's amazing, what a find, I purchased my 100 with 55k three years ago and had a couple problems but still love it. The Recaro seats are great you sit lower than the standard and the dashboard is beautiful. The 20 inch BBS wheels with 10 inch rears not only give it a good look but give it a nice ride, better than I expected. I'm checking for new tires now and this forum sure helps. Your wait will be well worth it.

The worse problem was the fuel pumps went out. Fortunately they went out while it was parked in the garage Then the battery went dead. The car was from Louisiana and it still has not seen any snow or salt. The old ABS light comes on at times shortly after start up but always goes out after driving for a bit, and never seems to affect the ride. There are several posts on the ABS light. My big concern is the timing chain, I have read somewhere that the 2002 model have the 1st or 2nd updated top chain tensioners. The timing chains and all tensioners are supposed to be replaced after 50 or 55k.
With only 19k I doubt you will have any problems for a long time.

Just saw this thread...
I have an XKR-100 coupe now with 56K miles on it. I've put on about 10K since I bought it last year. I love it, but it loves the mechanic... Problems I've encountered on it have been:
- Broken raise/lower gears on the steering wheel (first time my mechanic had seen that, most are the retracting gears)
- Inoperable seat controls on the passenger seat. Turned out the board had shorted out from the leak at the top of the door...which got the floorboard carpet wet, which had in turn gotten the board wet...another couple hundred $ for that fix. Oh, word to the wise - be VERY careful removing the seat control knobs...the fasteners break VERY easily!
- Worn supercharger belt...replaced twice as the new one started squeaking again. All tensioners tightened during the replacement.
- Leak around the seal on the canon plug going into the transmission. New seal cost less than $5...then a couple hours of labor to install it...ouch!
- Inoperable window position sensor on the passenger door...caused the window to slam into the trim...had to replace the entire door handle...ouch.
- Bad fuel pump...replaced.
- The third brake light disintegrated from the sun...bought a new one and couldn't get it back on right. It's STILL at the shop with the mechanic trying to figure out how to get it on (yes, it SHOULD be easy, but for some reason it isn't!)
- Passenger seat release cable slipped off the track inside the seat. Twice. Discovered that if one of my kids pushes on the back of the seat just the right way, it will pop off. Yep. New rule - don't touch the seats in daddy's car.
- Major vaccuum leak in the gas system...replaced the gas cap, still had it. Hand-over-handed the fuel lines, found out it was a faulty sensor. Replaced sensor.
- TRAC/ASC NOT AVAIL warning. Not sure why...currently in the shop to determine what the issue is.
- ABS light on. They think it's the same problem as above.
- Air bag major fault. In the shop currently for this too.
- Battery shorted out while I was at work one day...had to get it towed to the shop...battery replaced with a new one.
Then the basic things...broken windshield...replaced. Missing second key and fob...replaced. Missing spare tire and tire kit...in process of replacement.
Man...still wondering why I own this car!!!!!!
