Just bought my second Jaguar - at Mechum
I'm a newbe, and the proud owner of a 2001 XKR - Silver with black interior, black top.
Was a little nervous bidding on a car that I couldn't drive - and when I started home with it, it was only running on a few cylinders.... I was sick. I kept it going, and it cleaned out - and runs fine now. I think it had been idled around so long that the CPU thought that was normal.
Have figured out the Code issue on the Alpine (and suddenly the Nav worked).
Car is from the Collegeville PA area- appears to be a two owner, with the second owner around there. It has a "Chevy 21" dealership sticker on the back.
I would really like to find the owner - to determine what all has been done - if anything to the car. It has a modified exhaust and a K&N breather, so I'm sure he/she was an enthusiast. The grill is replaced, with no bumper bars or license bracket.
Car is in the Kansas City area now, and I look forward to sunny days and enjoying the ride.
Thanks for all the advice on the forum - the license plate info will be put to use.

Welcome to the forum Ironheadvette,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
If the XKR had been standing around for some time, a discharged battery and old or low fuel can cause all kinds of weird behaviour with the electronics.
Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US MidWest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/mid-west-us-il-ia-mi-mn-mo-oh-wi-39/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

I'd be surprised if the Brake Pedal Pad is available other than as a Jaguar part. The part Number for the Brake Pedal Pad is MNA5378AA. It's £14.71 from the dealer in the UK ($24.84) but could be more in the US.
Forum sponsor S N G Barratt list it at $23.71 inc tax:
