Default Key fob

Hi all, new to the forum I hope someone can help.
I have a 2007 x type jag. All doors lock and unlock with the key when you do it through the drivers door, however will not unlock or lock using the remote. So far I have replaced the battery, then the circuit board in the key fob, check the spring loaded flap in the ignition and tried numerous times to recode it, I get the beeps to suggest it has been successful but it still doesn’t work. Last week after reading a thread I removed the RF unit and sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner still no success. I am now out of ideas so any suggestions would be great fully accepted

Welcome to the Forums.

I suggest a re-ask in the X Type (X400) Tech Section.

GGG will see this when the planets align better, and move it for you.

Good luck, I dont have any answers.

Welcome to the forums ghowat,

You've certainly eliminated a lot of the usual possible causes so I've copied your question to X-Type forum for advice from members with the same model. Here's the link to it:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ey-fob-279371/

If you haven't already done so, please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Jim,

Blame me for this!

ghowat had Location set as the exact part of Sydney but I amended it to show City, Country for the benefit of members around the World.

Hello,
Once in a while, I have to,"Re-pair" the fob in my Subbie, for what reason I have no idea.
Or, worst case, you need a whole new fob as that one is somehow Dead. I had that happen on a Hyundai once for no particular reason.

I wish you success.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
