Default (Kind of) New from Colorado

Hi all, I've been a long time member, although pretty inactive for quite some time so I figured I'd reintroduce myself. I am a former Jaguar/Land Rover Technician from Kentucky, and I recently moved to Colorado. I formerly owned a 2003 S-Type, and sold it several years ago. I always regretted it because it was by far the best vehicle I ever owned. Since then, I've traveled the US, been in and out of numerous BMWs, looking for the perfect Jag that could be a suitable replacement for my S-Type. I recently found this 2004 XJR I was able to procure for less than a song. She's got 148,000 miles on the clock, body and interior are in near perfect condition. Two owner, garage kept, but unfortunately the previous owner did not care for her mechanically. She blew a coolant hose on the highway, and he kept driving and grenaded the engine. Due to the unknown service history the last few years, rather than fit new head gaskets I am searching for a new engine, and I'm sure I will be making posts regarding this. Given my former background as a tech, I have some knowledge of these cars but it is limited. The dealer I worked for didn't see many of these, and when we did it was usually minor maintenance!

Thanks guys, and I look forward to being a member of this forum again!

Welcome back Perry,

Here's a link to your original Intro in 2013:

I expect you've already found your way to the X350 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome.

Yep, lack of coolant and silly owners is never a good mix.

Looks good for what it is,

BUT

Whats that in the background, looks like an hour or 2 to get that back to glory.

Good luck.

Wow 2013, how the time has passed. I have, and thank you!

In the first picture, you can kind of see the back a 74 E-Type poking out of the garage, and the front corner of an 81 Delorean, but the car I think you’re referring to is a 54 Chrysler Cranbrook. It belongs to a friend of mine, it runs/drives, all original its even still 6v! He picked that thing up for $600 just waiting on a new gas tank for it. Around the side of the house there is a series 2 XJ that had a 350 installed in it early in its life, 52 Cadillac, and a 71? Marauder package Cougar. I could go on forever listing all the cool cars between him and I, between the two of us there are 5 Jags, 30ish Cadillacs, and several just plain weird cars in various states of repair
