Default At last, I have a Jag

Wife say is it a midlife crisis, I say it is a boys toy I have wanted for many a year (I am 54). I have a 2 litre petrol Automatic X Type and love it. It is light metallic blue with leather seats. 92,000 miles on the clock and paid £1500 for it. Will keep it for weekends and long journeys, not really a car for pottering around town, have an Astra for that.

Tried the S button earlier today on the M275, wow.

So comfortable to drive, best fun I have had since hiring a Ford Falcon in Oz a few years ago, but I get to keep this, awesome.

Not an expert on cars, in fact I struggle to find the starting handle! Subsequently my apologies in advance as likely to be asking some daft questions in the future.

I guess my first question is, why no leaping Jag on the front anymore? although seen them for sale on ebay, should I get one?

Hello, Michael,

Don't worry about asking questions. We all had to ask questions in the beginning and many of us still do. That's how we learn.

Welcome from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum MrMichael,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Jaguar mascots on the bonnet went out as a factory fitting in the UK in the 1960's under Construction & Use regulations. Starting handles disappeared around the same time.

Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thank you Jim and everybody else that has made me feel welcome. Am exploring the site and finding some really interesting stuff, including the Jag meet and convoy in Brighton later this year.....very tempted.

Welcome MrMichael,
The way I see it a midlife crisis has two options:
1. Have an affair
2. Buy a Jag
#2 is cheaper, more reliable, and better for your health.

Cheers
