Hey guys, I am PF. Been eyeing this forum down for a while, finally felt like it would be wise to join and get involved with fellow Jag enthusiasts
This is my father's and my own pride and joy, our Jaguar XJ6. We have owned since 2004, loved it ever since. Interesting fact: The boot doesn't open and we have no idea how to fix it (only opens through key)
Here is a photo taken earlier today (Melbourne, Australia) of us giving it a good wash (sorry if the picture is massive, don't know how to format it down)
It sound like you've alrready found the relevant model froum but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Wiring loom around the RH boot hinge has a broken wire, very common, and a PITA to fix. I usually sit in the boot and just twist and bend to get access to it.

This seems like the most reasonable answer I have ever heard about this besides the "VALET" button being the cause. When you say twist and bend, what exactly would I be looking for, and where in placement refering off the hinge?
