Default Michigan's "Thumb" says hello

Just joined the site because I'm at a crossroads with our '04 X-Type 3.0. Just clicked 142K on the clock, starting to get nervous. Bought the car in '06 w/18K, certified w/select warranty. Oh, and neighbor is master cert. Jag/Rover tech. So car has been scrutinized for every little issue until the 100K was up. New trans under warranty at100K. Other than that just maintainence, and devouring tires like their cat food, it been great.

Sounds like a good car, Kay! I wouldn't worry too much about the 142K on the odometer. Keep up on routine maintenance and it should treat you well for many more years / miles.

BTW... I'm a transplanted Michigander. My family started around Holland; my wife's around Detroit. We both lived in the UP for years (went to MTU). The biggest concern for your Jag in that area is the salty roads. Get your Cat's undercarriage washed regularly in the winter.

i agree Kay, if you've taken such good care of it in the 5 years of ownership, that should mean more than just an odometer reading. Do you trust someone else's used car (if you go used) or would you rather keep a car that you know where its been, and how its been treated? As long as you still have a high level of pride, and enjoy the feel the car gives you behind the wheel...my choice would be easy.

If its a new car you seek as a replacmeent...well, my advice is just useless letters from my keyboard

Welcome KaysKat. Keep her as long as you love her. If not, what would you cross the road for?

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com.

If you haven’t already you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for. To do this go to, User CP, Edit Signature, Add Vehicle Details and such and Save Your Signature.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Also, should you have questions related to your vehicle please post it in the section for your model year (MY) car. This way you will reach all the members that are familiar with your MY car.
