Welcome to the forum MikE-Type,

I've moved your post from the end of a very old thread to its own new thread in the New Member Area so everyone sees it.

I can guess you either own an E-Type or admire them but care to share any more info with us?

Graham

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the warm welcome! Forgive my not positing to the proper spot. I just read the “new members please read” info and am still getting used to using the forum.

My name is Mike. I’ll start by confessing that I do not drive a Jaguar, but I’ve always admired Jaguars, their tradition and racing history. But what I admire most is the resourcefulness of Jaguar technicians.

I am a former Ford dealership technician turned independent tech. For better or worse, a lot of technologies are shared between the two marquis; Jaguar and Ford, and I’ve come to find that Jaguar technicians will oftentimes devise more elegant solutions to addressing common problems.

The information on this forum has been a tremendous help to me, especially the threads dealing with GenRad WDS. I’ve joined the forum in hopes that I might be able to share what I’ve learned about this tool and hopefully help someone else.

Thanks again!

Hi Mike:
Welcome to the forum and greetings from the Midwest Region. Always nice to have another technician on board, especially for guys like me who need all the mechanical advice I can find! Obviously, no Jaguar required for forum involvement. However, and perhaps it's just me, but I tend to see that as a problem that requires a remedy. Then again, I'm biased...

cheers and welcome aboard!
Scott

A proper welcome from me now, Mike.

Great Intro.

Good to hear you've found useful information here and that you can contribute knowledge of WDS.

I think Ford were a huge benefit to Jaguar. Without their R&D and cash injection, we probably wouldn't have Jaguar around today. Not so sure about Tata. Only time will tell.

Start saving for that E-Type. The longer you leave it, the more difficult ($$$) it becomes.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham
