Misty says 'Hi, Boys'
h20boy has gently reminded me that it is traditional to stop by and introduce myself so here goes...
It's traditional in my family to give our boats and cars a name and our latest member of the family is a '99 Jaguar Sovereign V8 4.0L in Mistral Blue so we named her 'Misty'. We both say 'Hi'
Misty is our second Jaguar - way back I recall trading an ITT-2020 (UK clone of an Apple II) for an XJ6 4.2L called Jenny which we loved right up until the time I got a frozen shoulder changing the inboard handbrake pads and could hardly drive for three weeks. OK, we still loved her after and the auto box was a godsend. We always had fond memories of her.
Misty comes from the Nikasil era but had a dealer blow-by test at 18LPH (a healthy pass) with 25K on the clock and still starts reliably with the first turn of the key at 88K. First 1000 miles just completed and no loss of oil or water. Next challenge will be upstream O2 sensors (providing I believe my OBD reader) and I think the TRACS could do with a little TLC. At some point I guess I will also have to drop the timing chain covers off and see what is revealed in the tensioner department. Apart from that she starts easily, drives beautifully, transmission is smooth and quiet, climate control is nice and icy, my only real gripe is I miss my 12-speaker surround 400-watter from the Volvo. The Jaguar stereo is a real weed in comparison
Anyhoo, enough babbling, thanks for letting us stop by, BCNU!
James and Misty.

Eggselent intro James. I'd like to wave to misty, but i don't see a picture of her anywhere. (I too named my jag a girls name - beth).
Looking forward to seeing you around the forums, sharing stories and adding content to our boards. It seems like you know what you're doing. And, don't always trust that OBD scanner!
