MN Newbie XJ8 Owner
Hello all, 🚘 😋🏁
I arrived back home Sunday after driving my (new to me) 2001 XJ8 Jaguar from Anna Maria Island Florida to Minnesota. The Jaguar experience was so awesome I drove for 15 hours straight the first day.
I am very lucky, because I recieved the car from my Mom & Dad. They were going to trade it in but figured we needed a new car more than them. Thanks Mom & Dad.
Only 65,000 miles, new tires and battery. Completely serviced for me before I left on 4/20.
-The car has 4 small door dings in the DR door which I think can be paintless dent removed.
-I have to fabricate a front license plate bracket because I dont want to drill the front bumper to mount the plate.
-I had the sunroof quit working and drop on the drivers side yesterday.
-Need to see what is causing the drivers seatbelt not to retract completely.
-Need to see what is under the steering column that keeps blocking and hitting my right foot switching from accel to brake. Very frustrating because it hinders proper pedal manipulation.
-Passanger side speakers seem to be blown, have to dig into them.
-I want to improve the audio system, add 18" Coventry wheels.
About two weeks before I flew down to pick up the car I discovered your forum, what an awesome site and users are very informative. I hope I will able to contribute. I am a service manual reader front to back, gather every bit of information I can find on the auto and will research all I can before fixing or modifying anything.
This is the site for me. Now I want more Jaguars.
Thank you,

Welcome to the forum Algarv,
Nothing too serious (as in $$) on the 'to do' list.
You've probably already found the XJ8 tech section but if not, follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the US Mid West Region section by following this link Mid West US - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forum.
Graham

Hi Algarv:
Welcome to the forum and greetings from the Midwest Region. Nice to have a neighbor on board! That's some hand-me-down! Any 12-year-old car will need a bit of sorting out to make right. And, as you've already seen by your long drive home, it's so worth it on these cars.
Congrats and enjoy!
Cheers,
Scott
