Question Ms Bratt.. Jag x type 2003

Hi.. I have a jaguar x type awd 2003.. I recently had to replace the motor myself. No it was not fun.. Lol! I have it running, sounds great but can not get the air out of the brake lines, no brakes.. I have used a tube, I have had help with pumping and bleeding with keeping cylinder full.. I believe my matter cylinder to be in great shape, no leaks.. It's been a nightmare. It's taken me 5 months to do the engine myself and I'm tired. Please if you have any knowledge on brakes and can help me I would be so grateful.. Thank you..

Welcome, and WELL DONE.

I am not aware of the X having some weird or wonderful braking system.

Sometimes a pressure bleed, where a fitting is attached to the reservoir, and "slight" pressure, about 3psi from memory, is applied. Then the bleed points opened, one at a time, as a second person maintains the pressure, AND a very carefull eye on the fluid level for obvious reasons.

My old S Type was one of them.

Maybe a quickie repost in the X Type Tech section will get a specific answer for you.

Hello, Lori,
It's good to see another woman in here who knows her way around a shop! Good job getting that engine changed and running. You'll get the brakes figured out eventually I'm sure.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
