well earlier this week i attended a police auction and purchased a 2003 S-TYPE with a 4.2 liter v8. Scored this sweet deal for $1600. Since Monday we had the car towed to our home and the fun has begun. Momma purchased refurb wheels and new tires are on order. The interior was clutered but once cleaned out to our surprise all the leather is in great condition. Well today is Friday and have not tried to start yet but have turned the motor over manually, motor is not siezed up, no oil leaks just needs a good bath that and a good buff will come in time. Once cleaning the inside started with fuel system, did i say car has not been run for 2 years. emptied the fuel tank,added 5 gals of new fuel, changed fuel filter, oil change, and tomarrow will put new spark plugs in. Purchased new Battery so once that is done will try to start it. Car is missing belly pan and piece that goes across the front bumper, in time i will learn the terminology. Could use help finding these parts cheep. Presently up on Jackstands I have a pretty ornament in my car port. Hope to learn more about my car. I did purchase an on line mechanics manual. Cause I am a self proclaimed shadetree mechanic. looking forward to getting any feedback.

i can find a fuel pump for my 2003 S-Type but can't find the transfer pump. not getting any fuel pressure to fuel rail and no sound from fuel pump when turning key to number II position. Will be checking fuses and relays this am, but want a back up plan in case fuel pump is truely not working and want to replace transfer pump as well. If this is the case i will be removing fuel tank for complete cleaning. Car sat for 2 years. Did syphon old fuel out and put 6 gal of new premium fuel in. car turns over does not start . Used some started fluid and fired for a sec.
