Hi everyone,
I recently acquired a 1972 Jaguar XKE v12. Its willow green with tan interior. Absolutely beautiful from a few feed away. Has some rust and cosmetic flaws. It was sitting for a few years. Before putting in a new battery and cranking it, i want to clean it up the interior and exterior. then:
- pull the plugs and spray lubricant down the cylinders.
- oil change
- new fuel filter
- drain the tank.
- change tranny/gear oil (before driving it)
- ???
i was told that it ran before it was parked, so i am hoping it still runs. The 4 carburators are sort of scary. I have a small amount of experience with 4 cylinder single carb engines, not a mechanic, just a weekend warrior. But this engine, its a beast. I am looking forward to getting it running, and driving her around. It will be used as a pleasure mobile.
Looking forward to asking you guys all the questions and searching through the forum.
Thanks
Nima
BTW. the attached photo is of the car being loaded into the trailer. good thing the wheels were free, because the winch barely made it.
