Default thermostat, jaguar xj8 needs help

Hey there. I'm new to this and I'm from California. I'm here searching for some assistance in getting my 2005 jaguar xj8 running. It was running very strong and it began to run hot. I replaced the water pump, thermostat the thermostat housing, and a few hoses. It then began running strong. About a week later it ran hot again. After failed attempts o900pn finding the source I I had a mobile Mechanic come out. After he tried diagnosing it the front display where the radio is why completely black. Ive been told that inertia switch is why it won't run. I need some advice pls advise

Welcome to the Forums.

A tad vague there.

The XJ8 has been around since 1998ish, and covers a few models.

Please help us to help you with much better details, we dont bite, really.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Kyngmon,

Please add Model and Year and I will be able to give you a link to the appropriate Model forum. Jaguar badging is a minefield! There were three entirely different models all badged as XJ8 built between 1997 and 2019:

X308 (1997-2003) - steel bodied

X350 (2003-2009) - aluminium bodied

X351 (2009-2019) - aluminium bodied

X308, X350 and X351 are the factory codes which dealers and the forums use to distinguish between them.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
