My name is clyde
Hi all,
My name is clyde. My father bought an XK8 last fall a couple weeks before he passed. My mother has started dropping hints that she wants it out of her garage, so I'm starting to make plans to fly out to California and drive it back to my home outside DC in July or August.
I found this forum yesterday as I started researching the car and it's quite a resource. Definitely on par with the best of make and model specific boards I've spent time on over the years for cars I've owned, run, or wrenched.
Looking forward to learning more!
Would it be possible for an admin to change my user name to "clyde" (lower case "c")? The anti-spam service used to screen new registrations didn't seem to like it and it doesn't seem to be in use. Thanks in advance if that's possible.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm not sure what year the car is. I think I remember him telling me '98 or '02, but I don't remember. It's not a car I ever would have imagined buying for myself, but the more I read and see, the more intrigued I am. I think my dad would have enjoyed it a lot more than the other fun cars he went through over the years. Pretty sure I'll find a lot to like, too.
