Need Help with my Jaguar
my 2002 Jaguar X Type (112,000 miles). When I accelorate, sometimes the RPMs go up high but the car does not respond in volocity. A "Transmission Fault" messege apperas on the dash. Most of the time when I turn the car off and start again it will not do this. It's a hit or miss issue and would like to get this resolved. Anyone with any iformation would be really helpfull.

I still have this problem. The issue is, that sometimes the problem goes away and then comes back!! I sitll have it. To be honest...as soon as I fix this issue I'm going to sell it. I have other things that take too much of my time for this car! Beautiful car but doesn't do any good since I don't drive it much!

Please do yourself a favour and check out the relevant sections for your car.......do a search there.
I'm sure the issues are well documented with possible resolutions towards a fix, but this is the new members section and as such, used primarily ONLY for welcoming newbies...................so you won't get a great response here I'm afraid.

Sorry to hear about your transmission issues.
Two things to do to progress this:
1. get the DTC's (fault codes) read
2. follow Norri's link to the X-Type section and post the codes there
With any engine or transmission issue, the DTC's turn guesswork and speculation into a logical and targeted troubleshooting sequence.
Hope it's an easy and low cost fix.
